Association de médiation familiale du Quebec
Me Jean-François Chabot seated at the board of diredctors of the Association de Médiation Familiale du Québec and 3 years as President of the Board of Directors. He is involved in this respect because he sincerely believes that parents are best placed to resolve their disputes and to find the best possible solution for the whole family.
The Association is the only organism dedicated to the representation of family mediators and to the promotion of family mediation in Quebec.
By structuring the practice, ensuring the formation of family mediators and of supervisors, the AMFQ has played and continues to play a leading role in developing family mediation and to have it recognized as the alternative to judicial recourses.
The Association brings together more that 224 members from six professional orders: lawyers, guidance counselors, notaries, psychologists, social workers, psychoeducators, conjugal and familial therapists. They all have received a specialized formation in family mediation in addition to their initial training.
